Needs client: Why Protection, Gender & Inclusion matters in Samburu

Why it matters

Women and girls in pastoral communities carry much of the burden when drought and conflict strike, yet often have the least say in decisions. Children, older people and people with disabilities face similar risks.draft

What we do

  • Women's groups

Farm tools, seedlings and household supplies for women's groups, so women can grow food and earn an income.

  • Dignity for girls

Sanitary kits and advocacy for period-friendly schools, so menstruation is no longer a barrier to education.

  • Child protection and inclusion

Targeted support that safeguards children, promotes gender equity and includes marginalised people.
